20/Twenty

It's a new year and that time where our team is busy closing out financials, reviewing EOY metrics, ramping up new engagements, and looking forward to the year ahead. These are a few thoughts that are top of mind for Simlogi as we enter this new decade. Transformation. What is it? Merriam-Websterdefines transform as: trans•form (transitive verb): to change in composition or structure Some thoughts on how transformation happens in business. Must first establish a baseline of "where we are".Must define the end game, the moonshot.Must define milestones that move… READ MORE

Playing Around

Our work at Simlogi is transactional and we spend much of our time structuring datasets. Structuring datasets is precisely how we view the accounting work we do. Turning those structured datasets into visual outputs is a method we use to build relationships. You can learn more about this at our Core. Experimenting with the presentation of datasets to convey a clear and concise story is our sandbox. This year, we've been playing around in Jupyter Notebook testing new time series outputs and a variety of other charting deliveries. Every business… READ MORE

Risk is More Than Passion

What’s not to enjoy about this moment?! The crowded… READ MORE

An Incredible Chemistry

Everyone wants to be brave, but no one wants to be vulnerable. - Dr. Brene Brown Each weekend I spend a couple hours in my own personal study session reading up on current events, big ideas, and rationalizations. I enjoy this time because, at the very least, it makes me feel like I'm "keeping up" (as false as that is). More so, I enjoy challenging the mold that my mind has created from the previous week's work. Some reading that got me thinking over the weekend was an interview with… READ MORE

A Financial Fortress

Warren Buffett released the Bershire Hathaway Inc. annual letter to shareholders over the weekend and for investors, and business owners alike, he delivered some value nuggets. This was absolutely one of my favorites: Berkshire will forever remain a financial fortress. In managing, I will make expensive mistakes of commission and will also miss many opportunities, some of which should have been obvious to me. At times, our stock will tumble as investors flee from equities. But I will never risk getting caught short of cash. I read the shareholder letter… READ MORE
